We have all probably fallen for the ‘get rich quick’ schemes online. Or at least most of us almost fell for them. Long story short those schemes don’t work. As a rule of thumb, anything that says ‘easy money’ is lying. You may get some cash back, but not as easily as they make it look.
Below we will look at a three ways you can genuinely make money online. They are not easy to do but are proven to earn a return albeit with some hard and smart work.
1. Affiliate marketing.
Affiliate marketing entails generating leads for another brand for you to get paid through commissions. In most cases, affiliates will receive a special link they can share with others that when opened leads the customer to the brands products. Only after the customer buys does the affiliate make money. Many affiliate programs will have a minimum amount for you to achieve before cashing out. This is closely related to referrals but should not be used interchangeably. Referrals usually come by because the brand and the ambassador have a strong relationship and may not have any financial incentive while on the other hand affiliate marketing is largely driven by numbers and the financial gain raised.
E-commerce is another great way to make money online. Basically, if you have products that you can get at below market price, you can buy and resell through online platforms. It also helps knowing you don’t need your own website to sell. As you start out, you could join platforms such as Amazon, Jumia or Jiji to sell. However, as you grow we recommend getting your own e-commerce website to fortify your brand position.
Do you have a niche blog or YouTube channel with plenty of monthly visitors? This may work for you. As opposed to affiliate marketing where someone encourages other people to purchase using a special link to earn a commission, popular bloggers may get approached by brands to place advertisements in their blogs for their readers or viewers. The blogger will usually receive monthly remuneration. However, this kind of earning is really specialized because it would need your visitor numbers to be really high. At least in the tens of thousands for growing businesses to recognize you and probably hundreds of thousands, if not millions, for big corporations to advertise through you.
Making money online is real. These are not the only ways. These are just some of the few proven ways. Some people engage in all three and some just pick what works for them and run with it. Have you ever tried any of these? Could there be another lesser known method that works? Share your thoughts in the comments.
